Dallol (-85 m)

Goal of this expedition is 4 days stay at the 613 m high volcano Erta Ale in the desert Danakil.
The second major target will be the volcano Dallol.
Aswell it is possible to invest a apare day on another spot in the area.

Demands and travelcomfort: Demands and travelcomfort: The volcanoes are not hard to climp, but the heat in the Danakil is severe threat. Walking hours vary from 3 to 5 on some days. Check with your doctor if your phisical conditions are good for the eventually 50°Celsius in the desert, basic food at some days, little comfort in the camp and sometimes low hygienic standards.
Included on our tour:
Transport of the group in 4xwheeel trucks; overnight in the hotels (X) standard double room or single doublerooms depending on your boodking; full board; guides, cooks, security and staff on the tour; camels for transport; insurance to cancel the tour in case of health problems; entrance fees; most tips.
travelogue of the excursion day by day (services and achievements of VEI)

day 1 Arrival in Addis and transfer to the hotel with check-in. If time does allow it, we will go on a city tour until dinner-time.
(achievements: transport from the airport to the hotel in Addis; accomodation at a hotel in( x) standard double room with private bath; city tour; dinner; welcome drink)

day 2 Today we will fly from Addis to Makale; transfer to the hotel.
(Breakfast; transfer; local dep.-tax; dinner; accomodation at a hotel)

day 3 Start with 4x4 vehicles via Bere Ale to lake Assale (Amadela); camp
(from today until day 11: transport in 4x4 trucks; guides, cooks, security; accomodation in camps; permits; some tips; full board)

day 4 After breakfast we will drive from Amadela along site the Danakil "Alps" to the foot of the volcanoe Erta Ale.

day 5 In the night start to the caldera of Erta Ale (613 ) - the luggage will be carryed by camels; camp
(additional local guide; camels for luggage)

day 6 This is a full day at the volcano; camp

day 7 Another full day (#3) at the volcano; camp.

day 8 After breakfast we will hike down from Erta Ale to the base camp.

day 9 From Erta Ale base camp we will drive back to Lake Assale; camp.

day 10 Visit of the saltmining and the Danakil desert; camp at Amadela.

day 11 Early morning drive and excursion at Dallol; camp

day 12 From Lake Assale drive back to Makale; hotel in Makale; dinner at a restaurant

day 13 Flight from Makale to Addis. Transfer to the hotel and dinner at a restaurant.
(Breakfast in the hotel; transit to/from the airport; dinner)

day 14 Transfer to the airport; flight from Addis to Germany arround evening - arrival next day
(Breakfast in the hotel; tips; citiytour; transit to the airport)

Note:
(x) If accommedation in one particular hotel is not availiable, equal accomplishment will be given. Further more we reserve the right to change the program if necessary.

Not included achievements: Journey (flights) to/from Ethiopia); payments for a visa; departure- and airport-tax; your personal shopping and expenditures; all food not included in the achievements of VEI.

Date of departure and costs:
We will set a date of departure when a group signs in on individual number, or a list of interested persons get the minimum of 6 participants. The price per participant will be based on a group of 6-9 participants. Single accommondation requires extra payment
